Solidarity project Philippines

As part of our studies in first year of Master Degree in Multilingual and International Projects’ Management at the University of Western Brittany – Brest in France, our group of four students is setting up and carrying out a solidarity project in favor of the Filipina population.

Supported by the humanitarian association from Quimper named "Enfants Pangangan Philippines", we are trying to improve the living conditions of the villagers of Pangangan island. To do so, our mission "Hinaharap Pilipino", gathering several areas such as ecology, education, health, multiculturalism and sports, is split up into three main axes : Material support to the local population ; Animation of a cultural week ; Awareness of health and environmental issues.

Overall, we can say that this solidarity project was a great learning experience as a professional and personal point of view. On the one hand, the project enabled the implementation of theoretical knowledge in a professional environment and improve the knowledge acquired during our master. This mission was also an opportunity to precisely define our professional future by confirming or not our choice of career or specialization. On the other hand, the project emphasizes the vital qualities for personal culmination of each, such as abnegation, mutual aid, teamwork, determination and perseverance. Carrying a humanitarian mission is, therefore an incredible opportunity that undoubtedly mark us for life. More than a university project, Hinahap Pilipino was an invaluable personal experience and a crucial springboard for our careers."
